I wrote this in 1993. I initially imagined it as part of a ballet. Maybe one day.
It was performed in Chicago on five wind instruments in 1996 alongside a more extensive piece for mixed quintet (I've recently extracted parts of the latter to turn into a song; working on lyrics).
NOTE: With these Bandcamp audio files, I allow the peaks more breathing room than what you'd find at the streaming platforms. This makes things louder and more dynamic, but also increases the chances of clipping. This track works well on my system, but if (after purchase) you happen to find the streaming service audio friendlier to your system or more appealing, let me know; I can send you the file I submitted for broad digital distribution.
